Creche philosophy
The Philosophy of the Children’s Program is based on:
We believe in the recognition of the uniqueness of each child and family and the need for
the children to develop an understanding and respect for self and others.
We acknowledge the critical importance of children, parents and staff as partners in a
learning community that promotes the well being, education and development of all children
We believe that interaction, sensitivity and attachment are fundamental elements in
providing opportunities for children to realize their potential.
This potential is achieved through opportunities to:
- Imagine and Create
- Solve Problems
- Play
- Imitate and Model
- Discover and Explore
- Experiment
- Express thoughts and Ideas
- Reflect on Experiences
- Propose Theories and Reason
- Master Skills
- Have Meaningful Experiences
We believe that the role of adults to create a stimulating and responsive environment where
positive reinforcement and encouragement makes learning possible.
We acknowledge, rejoice and incorporate the culture and diversity of people within our community.
We believe that a statement of the Centre’s Philosophy changes as new insights are gained and practice is evaluated.
A working party of parents and staff developed the Centre’s Philosophy and as a philosophy statement is a dynamic document. All parents are invited to contribute ideas at any time.
